Past Tense adalah bentuk kalimat bahasa Inggris yang digunakan untuk
menceritakan kejadian, peristiwa, atau aktivitas yang sudah terjadi dan
sudah selesai di masa lalu. Ini artinya kejadian tersebut terjadi di waktu
sebelum sekarang, misalnya kemarin, minggu lalu, atau tahun lalu.

Tense digunakan untuk:
✔Mengungkapkan
kejadian masa lampau yang sudah selesai.
✔Menceritakan pengalaman yang telah terjadi.
✔Menyatakan fakta yang hanya benar di masa lalu.
Contoh umum
keterangan waktu yang sering dipakai: yesterday, last night, two days ago,
last week, last year, in 2020, dll.

Contoh:

2. Kalimat
Nominal (dengan ‘to be’)
Positif

Simple Past Tense dipakai ketika aksi atau kejadian sudah dimulai dan
selesai di masa lalu, tidak lagi berlangsung sekarang.
Verb 2
Untuk kata kerja aksi (non-to-be), kita memakai verb bentuk kedua (V2) —
misalnya: played, walked, ate, went.
Auxiliary
Verb
Di kalimat negatif dan interogatif, kita memakai did / did not dan tetap
pakai verb bentuk dasar (verb 1).
